Job Description
The Legal Services Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of virtual and in-person legal clinics in their assigned region. The Legal Services Coordinator will establish partnerships, collaborate with local leaders, and manage a passionate team of staff and volunteers to ensure that clients have access to legal counsel and complete immigration forms when applicable, including but not limited to naturalization and temporary protected status applications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program Planning
● Plan in-person and virtual events such as information sessions about FLIC’s legal clinics program and immigration legal clinics, coordinating assignments for Legal Clinic Assistants to ensure effective implementation
● Plan community outreach strategies for the program to ensure adequate recruitment of partners, volunteers and clients
● Develop regional partnerships to amplify programs through relationship building with local organizations, and municipalities.
Program Implementation
● Oversee the implementation of information sessions and immigration legal clinics in assigned region by:
● Managing Legal Clinic Assistant(s)
● Coordinating partners
● Coordinating volunteers in partnership with the volunteer coordinator
● Managing a comprehensive schedule of legal clinics
● Identifying and securing venues for events
● Overseeing operational aspects of events and supporting Legal Clinic Assistants in securing venue, meals, supplies, staffing, executing client outreach and any other tasks necessary for a successful event
● Oversee clients' pre-event registration and follow ups
● Process USCIS applications forms when necessary
● Ensure appropriate data collection and progress monitoring
● Prepare and submit monthly or quarterly reports Management
● Oversee management of resources, including program assigned budget o Maintain a solution-oriented practice and proactively seek resources and training to optimize services delivery
● Manage assigned staff and volunteers o Schedule and maintain bi-weekly team meeting o Supervise Legal Clinic Assistant(s) and Volunteers o Hold regular 1:1 meetings with supervisee and maintain a coaching and supportive culture o Keep up with trends related to programmatic area and train program staff and volunteers as needed
● Ensure programmatic integration within FLIC and our partners o Participate in calls, trainings and meetings hosted by partner organizations when assigned by supervisor o Provide progress reports during staff meetings
● Manage collected data by using organizational assigned tools and following data security protocols
Qualifications
● A minimum of two years of professional experience in related fields and or a College degree is required.
● Project management experience with demonstrated ability to solve problems, meet tight deadlines, manage resources effectively, and work in teams and with people of diverse backgrounds
● Attention to detail, strong writing ability, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work at a fast pace while managing project requests are required.
● Passion for social, racial, gender, worker justice, and Florida politics preferred.
● Experience and personal interest in managing social media: Facebook Twitter, Instagram ● Experience in database management, helpful but not required (Every Action)
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs is required
● Must have their own vehicle and be willing to drive.
● Must work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
● Able to travel locally, statewide, and nationally.
Job Type: Full time, temporary
Salary: $55,000 to $63,000 (Commensurate with experience)
